Materials such as brick and stone have been used throughout the millennia, however, in contemporary North America and England it is more common to see gazebos constructed out of wood and shingles.

Although gazebo structures can be connected with early Chinese and Persian literature it's a mystery what the word origin of Gazebo is, adding to the rich history of this ages old retreat for anything from private reflection to public celebration!
